What we do
We Build Healthy and Resilient Communities in Zambia
Stopping HIV/AIDS, TB, and malaria through education, treatment, and advocacy.
Mental Health Support
We promote mental well-being through community awareness, early detection, and access to quality mental health services. Our work focuses on reducing stigma, training health workers, and strengthening referral systems to ensure that every individual can live with dignity and hope.
Geriatric Health
PHL champions the health, independence, and quality of life of older adults. We advocate for age-friendly services, train caregivers, and support community initiatives that address the unique medical, nutritional, and social needs of the elderly.
Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) Control
We work with communities and health systems to prevent, treat, and eliminate NTDs such as schistosomiasis, trachoma, and lymphatic filariasis. Through education, preventive treatment, and hygiene promotion, we reduce the burden of these preventable diseases.
Gender Equity & Women’s Empowerment in Health
PHL promotes gender equity in healthcare by addressing barriers that limit access and decision-making for women. Our programs support maternal health, prevent gender-based violence, advocate for women’s health rights, and empower women to lead community health initiatives.
Health Systems Strengthening
We enhance the capacity of Zambia’s health facilities and workforce to deliver quality healthcare services. PHL focuses on training health professionals, improving infrastructure, optimizing supply chains, and fostering partnerships to create resilient and sustainable health systems.
Disaster Response & Emergency Preparedness
PHL provides rapid disaster response and emergency preparedness during health crises, floods, droughts, and disease outbreaks. We focus on training, mobilizing resources, coordinating relief efforts, and restoring health and livelihoods in affected communities.
What we care for

Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH)
We improve access to clean water, safe sanitation, and hygiene education in underserved communities. PHL’s WASH initiatives reduce waterborne diseases, promote healthy living environments, and empower households to maintain long-term public health standards.
Communicable Diseases Prevention & Control
Communicable Diseases Prevention & Control
PHL strengthens community and facility-based health systems in Zambia to prevent, detect, and manage communicable diseases such as HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria. Our programs include health education, access to testing and treatment, infection control, and public health advocacy to protect communities and reduce disease spread.
